The San Francisco Bay Area’s Long Term Management Strategy (LTMS) has set a goal for 40% of its dredged material to be used for beneficial reuse. Wetland restoration has been a primary focus for the use of this material. Exa Data & Mapping worked for the Port of Oakland through Germano and Associates, Inc. to evaluate the current sediment values used to evaluate sediment for wetland foundation and surface cover. Results were presented to the Dredged Material Management Office (DMMO) and the public in a series of workshops. |
