Exa expanded the Stand-Alone Sediment Chemistry Testing Database application to streamline the import of EDDs and create customized data analysis utilities. The Data Selection Tool allowed users to filter the database based on multiple search criteria (e.g., permit number, project name, chemical group, geographic area), select data handling preferences (e.g., TOC normalization) and export options (e.g., export to KML or Excel). The second utility that was developed was termed the Compare to Reference tool and was programmed to allow regulators to compare sediment chemistry concentrations from a testing site to results from an appropriate reference area. The output from this tool identified exceedances at the testing site and allowed regulators to rapidly assess contaminants of concern based on the evaluation to a reference site.
