Data-Driven Websites
A web-based user interface (UI) will enable key users to upload, review, store and view data. Web-based UIs will vary in complexity, depending on the needs of the client.
A web-based user interface can be designed to include a secure portal for data upload where data collectors can submit data. This UI will also include functions for agency data managers to review the submitted data and conduct various administrative functions (e.g., to share information regarding the status of submitted data).
The website design may also include an interface for data sharing allowing users to access data in the system. Depending on client needs, the UI can be designed to allow specific users with the correct security credentials to view data and information that has been tagged as confidential. Exa can design data management systems that are hosted on a spatial server which embeds an interactive map in the website to serve as a tool to extract data and visualize spatial patterns. The map interface functions as a component of the overall data retrieval and visualization approach and is based on the data stored in the underlying geodatabase. The map can be designed to be dynamic, meaning when the geodatabase is updated, the map will automatically reflect changes.
