Dredged Material Testing Data Support - Multiple Small Harbors

US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS SEATTLE DISTRICT

Exa staff have supported the Seattle District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in managing chemical and toxicological data for several navigation projects throughout the State of Washington. Exa coordinated with the laboratories and data validators, and delivered the data collected in templates compatible with the Department of Ecology’s Environmental Information Management (EIM) system. For these projects, Exa was responsible for ensuring high quality data from the field and coordinating validation review for both the chemistry and bioassay laboratories. By ensuring delivery of high-quality testing data, Exa demonstrated several key specialties required by the Seattle District for this project, including Chemistry/Quality Assurance; Toxicology; Dredging Planning and Operations; GIS; and Data Management. Because of the volume of environmental chemistry and bioassay data that Exa manages, we have streamlined procedures for processing incoming field and laboratory data; checking for errors, omissions, and questionable data; and then exporting the data into the required formats.
